What's in the kit?
Every InkToday tattoo ships in its protective sleeve, with an application guide to help you put it on.
How do I apply my tattoo?
Our tattoos are painless and very easy to apply yourself – it only takes a few simple steps.
Follow the application guide supplied with your tattoo, or watch our video tutorial here.
Once applied, the ink reacts with the proteins and the keratin in your skin, and darkens within 24 to 36 hours.
Your tattoo then stays visible for 10 to 14 days depending on where you apply it on your body, before fading away naturally.
Colour and appearance
Unlike most temporary tattoos, INKTODAY ink bonds to the surface of your skin instead of simply sitting on top of it.
Once applied, the ink reacts with the proteins and the keratin in your skin, and darkens within 24 to 36 hours.
The final result looks like a real tattoo, in a deep blue-black colour.
How long does the tattoo last?
INKTODAY tattoos are designed to fade within 10 to 14 days.
How long they last depends on where you apply them, on your daily activities and on how hydrated your skin is.
The ink fades gradually as your skin renews itself naturally.
Here is an estimate of how long they hold, area by area:
🦵 Leg: day 1 to 5 (very dark colour), then day 6 to 12 (colour fading).
🦶 Foot: day 1 to 8 (very dark colour), then day 9 to 14 (colour fading).
🦵 Knee: day 1 to 6 (very dark colour), then day 7 to 12 (colour fading).
💪 Forearm: day 1 to 6 (very dark colour), then day 7 to 12 (colour fading).
💪 Shoulder: day 1 to 7 (very dark colour), then day 8 to 14 (colour fading).
💪 Upper arm: day 1 to 7 (very dark colour), then day 8 to 14 (colour fading).
✋ Hand: day 1 to 4 (very dark colour), then day 5 to 8 (colour fading).

InkToday ink: how we designed it

Temporary tree of life tattoo: test before you commit
The tree of life is one of the most meaningful tattoo designs. Found across dozens of cultural traditions, Celtic, Norse (Yggdrasil), Egyptian, Native American, it embodies the connection between roots and sky, vital energy, personal growth and the bond between generations. Choosing this symbol for a tattoo means carrying a deep intention on your skin.
And precisely because the meaning runs so deep, placement and size deserve careful thought. The InkToday temporary tree of life tattoo lets you live with the design before making a permanent decision. Ten to fourteen days on your skin, in the exact spot you have in mind, through your everyday life.
Where to place a tree of life tattoo?
The most popular placements for a tree of life are the arm, forearm, back, sternum and shoulder. For a discreet look, the wrist or ankle work beautifully. The 5x5 cm format of this temporary tattoo fits all these placements and gives you a precise preview of the final result before booking a studio appointment.
What occasions is it perfect for?
This tree of life temporary tattoo is especially popular for summer festivals, hen parties, boho weddings, yoga or meditation retreats, and as a meaningful gift for anyone drawn to spirituality, nature or family symbolism. It suits both women and men, with a clean, interlaced design that reads beautifully in black on all skin tones.
What are the risks of a temporary tattoo?
The risks of a temporary tattoo are virtually zero when the ink complies with European cosmetic standards, which InkToday does. The main hazard to avoid is black henna (PPD), which can cause severe allergic reactions. InkToday ink is vegan, free from black henna, and formulated for sensitive skin. In case of localised irritation, remove the tattoo by applying coconut oil or a gentle remover.
Care and longevity
To maximise wear: apply to clean, dry skin, avoid high-movement areas (joints), and skip the loofah when showering. The tattoo lasts 10 to 14 days and fades gradually without leaving a mark. It's waterproof, shower-proof and holds through a day in the sun.
How much does it cost?
A permanent tree of life tattoo costs between €60 and €200 depending on the studio and size. This InkToday temporary tree of life tattoo is available from €10 for a 5x5 cm format. The price of a trial, not a regret.
