How to apply an InkToday temporary tattoo
Applying an InkToday temporary tattoo takes about 5 minutes, with no needle and no pain. Follow these five steps for a clean, realistic result that lasts 10 to 14 days.
1. Prep your skin
Pick an area that is clean, dry and free of hair or lotion. Wash it with soap and water, then dry it well. Smooth, oil-free skin helps the design stick better and last longer.
2. Position the design
Cut out the tattoo, peel off the clear plastic film, then place the design inked side down on your skin, right where you want it. Check the placement before you wet it: the transfer is instant.
3. Wet it and press
Hold a damp sponge or cloth over the whole paper. Press firmly for 20 to 30 seconds without moving. Make sure the entire surface is wet for a complete, even transfer.
4. Peel off the paper
Gently lift the paper, starting from one corner. The design stays on your skin. Let it air-dry for 10 to 15 minutes, without rubbing or covering the area.
5. Make your tattoo last
Once dry, the tattoo is waterproof and lasts 10 to 14 days. Avoid rubbing the area, limit long baths and moisturize lightly every day. To remove it early, use a little oil or rubbing alcohol.

Why does the tattoo develop up to 24 hours after you apply it?
Unlike most temporary tattoos, INKTODAY ink bonds to the surface of your skin instead of simply sitting on top of it.
Once applied, the ink reacts with the proteins and the keratin in your skin, and darkens within 24 to 36 hours.

How long will my tattoo last?

How long they hold depends on where you apply them, on your daily activities and on how hydrated your skin is.
The ink fades gradually as your skin renews itself naturally.
Here is how long it tends to hold, area by area:
Leg: day 1 to 5 (very dark), then day 6 to 12 (fading).
Foot: day 1 to 8 (very dark), then day 9 to 14 (fading).
Knee: day 1 to 6 (very dark), then day 7 to 12 (fading).
Forearm: day 1 to 6 (very dark), then day 7 to 12 (fading).
Shoulder: day 1 to 7 (very dark), then day 8 to 14 (fading).
Upper arm: day 1 to 7 (very dark), then day 8 to 14 (fading).
Hand: day 1 to 4 (very dark), then day 5 to 8 (fading).
Is the ink plant-based?

Do InkToday tattoos expire?
Our tattoos should be stored dry and away from UV light. After 8 months the InkToday ink loses durability. Use them before then.
Can I cancel my order?
Custom orders cannot be cancelled (they are produced for you only, and we could not reuse them).

I want to remove my InkToday tattoo
Our tattoos bond to the surface of the skin, which is what gives the real tattoo effect.
You can still remove them, or soften the effect, before they fade on their own:
Gently rub your skin with an exfoliant (warm salt water or a body scrub, for example).
Be gentle – it can take several goes to lift the ink completely.
The 3 mistakes to avoid when applying your tattoo 🙄
1 – Not reading the application guide or watching the demo video (we hid a few jokes in there on purpose, go read it 🙄)
2 – Forgetting to peel off the plastic film that protects the tattoo (happens to the best of us 😅)
3 – Not waiting the few minutes the ink needs to dry after applying the tattoo. The tattoo can come out lighter and the ink can run.
