Our dragon temporary tattoos are water-applied transfers in vegan ink. The design darkens over 24 to 36 hours and dries matte, so scales and outlines read like real ink. Each lasts 10 to 14 days. Dragons tend to be large, meaningful pieces: wearing one first tells you if the style, the size and the spot are right.
Which dragon design should you choose?
Celtic dragon: knotwork lines, a strong pick for the forearm or the shoulder.
Asian dragon: a flowing illustration in the Japanese and Chinese tradition. Read our Japanese tattoo guide.
Totem Dragon sleeve: a full arm piece. See all sleeves.
Phoenix and serpents: the phoenix and Lotus & Serpents pair well with dragon themes. See our snake tattoo guide.
Wash the area with soap and water, skip any lotion, and dry it well.
Cut out the design, remove the clear film and place the inked side on your skin.
Press a damp cloth over the whole paper for 20 to 30 seconds without moving it.
Peel the paper off from one corner, then let it dry for 10 to 15 minutes without rubbing.
For a large dragon, place the sheet from the center outward to avoid folds. The design looks light at first and darkens over 24 to 36 hours. The full step-by-step guide with a video is on our how to apply page.
Dragon temporary tattoos: FAQ
What does a dragon tattoo mean?
In Asian traditions the dragon stands for strength, wisdom and good fortune. In Celtic and European imagery it is closer to power and protection. Both read as a bold, confident symbol.
Do dragon temporary tattoos look real?
Yes, once developed. The ink darkens over 24 to 36 hours and dries matte, so fine scales and outlines look like a fresh tattoo, without sticker shine.
Where should I put a dragon tattoo?
The forearm, the upper arm, the shoulder blade and the thigh suit most dragons. A full Totem Dragon sleeve covers the whole arm.
How long does a dragon temporary tattoo last?
Between 10 and 14 days on average, longer on low-friction areas like the upper arm or the back. Moisturize daily and avoid scrubbing.
Is it waterproof?
Yes, once developed. It holds up to showers, sweat and swimming. Pat it dry instead of rubbing.
How do I remove it?
Rub it with vegetable oil, coconut oil or an oil-based makeup remover, then wash with soap and water. Repeat on large designs if needed.
