What's in the kit?
Every InkToday tattoo ships in its protective sleeve, with an application guide to help you put it on.
How do I apply my tattoo?
Our tattoos are painless and very easy to apply yourself – it only takes a few simple steps.
Follow the application guide supplied with your tattoo, or watch our video tutorial here.
Once applied, the ink reacts with the proteins and the keratin in your skin, and darkens within 24 to 36 hours.
Your tattoo then stays visible for 10 to 14 days depending on where you apply it on your body, before fading away naturally.
Colour and appearance
Unlike most temporary tattoos, INKTODAY ink bonds to the surface of your skin instead of simply sitting on top of it.
Once applied, the ink reacts with the proteins and the keratin in your skin, and darkens within 24 to 36 hours.
The final result looks like a real tattoo, in a deep blue-black colour.
How long does the tattoo last?
INKTODAY tattoos are designed to fade within 10 to 14 days.
How long they last depends on where you apply them, on your daily activities and on how hydrated your skin is.
The ink fades gradually as your skin renews itself naturally.
Here is an estimate of how long they hold, area by area:
🦵 Leg: day 1 to 5 (very dark colour), then day 6 to 12 (colour fading).
🦶 Foot: day 1 to 8 (very dark colour), then day 9 to 14 (colour fading).
🦵 Knee: day 1 to 6 (very dark colour), then day 7 to 12 (colour fading).
💪 Forearm: day 1 to 6 (very dark colour), then day 7 to 12 (colour fading).

Temporary yin yang tattoo: test the balance before making it permanent
The yin yang symbol packs a 3,000-year-old philosophy into a 5x5 cm circle: the balance of opposites, feminine and masculine, darkness and light. Rooted in Chinese Taoism, it remains one of the most requested tattoo designs, and one of the most feared, precisely because of its simplicity. An imperfect circle stands out. That is exactly why the temporary yin yang tattoo is the smart step before a studio session.
Wearing this symbol on your finger, wrist, neck or shoulder for 10 to 14 days gives you an answer nobody else can: does this placement actually suit your daily life? Does this 5x5 cm size work with your gestures? Do you own it in a meeting, at the beach, at a family dinner?
Best placements for a temporary yin yang
The finger (particularly the knuckle) is the iconic placement for this symbol: compact, visible in motion, highly photogenic. The wrist and inner arm suit those wanting a discreet reminder. The nape and shoulder blade deliver more impact, revealed depending on your hairstyle.
A price that changes everything
A studio session for a yin yang tattoo runs between €60 and €200 depending on the artist and city. Ink2day's temporary yin yang tattoo starts at €10. Not a compromise, an informed decision before a permanent commitment.
FAQ, Common questions about temporary yin yang tattoos
What does a yin yang tattoo mean?
The yin (black) represents the feminine principle, the moon, stillness and receptivity. The yang (white) embodies the masculine principle, the sun, action and energy. Together they form a perfect circle symbolising the balance of opposites in Taoist philosophy.
Is a yin yang a good tattoo idea?
Yes, for anyone who connects with the concept of balance. A temporary tattoo lets you validate placement and size before committing. No serious tattoo artist would disagree.
Where is the best place to get a yin yang tattoo?
The finger is the reference: the round shape fits naturally on a knuckle. The wrist, nape and shoulder blade are also very popular. A temporary tattoo lets you test every placement at no extra cost.
How does a temporary tattoo work?
It works like a transfer: wet the backing, press onto skin, hold for 30 seconds, peel off the paper. The ink deposits on the top layer of skin. Result visible in 5 minutes.
How long does a temporary yin yang tattoo last?
Between 10 and 14 days depending on the area and your skin type. Low-friction zones (shoulder, shoulder blade) last longer. Fingers and wrists fade a little faster.
Does a temporary tattoo hurt?
No. Unlike permanent tattoos which use needles, temporary tattoos are applied to the surface. No piercing, no redness, no healing time.
Is the temporary yin yang tattoo suitable for all skin types?
Yes. Ink2day's formula is vegan, free from black henna and PPD, EU-compliant. It suits sensitive skin. If in doubt, test on a small area first.
