How do I apply my tattoo?
Our tattoos are painless and very easy to apply yourself – it only takes a few simple steps.
Follow the application guide supplied with your tattoo, or watch our video tutorial here.
Once applied, the ink reacts with the proteins and the keratin in your skin, and darkens within 24 to 36 hours.
Your tattoo then stays visible for 10 to 14 days depending on where you apply it on your body, before fading away naturally.
Colour and appearance
Unlike most temporary tattoos, INKTODAY ink bonds to the surface of your skin instead of simply sitting on top of it.
Once applied, the ink reacts with the proteins and the keratin in your skin, and darkens within 24 to 36 hours.
The final result looks like a real tattoo, in a deep blue-black colour.
How long does the tattoo last?
INKTODAY tattoos are designed to fade within 10 to 14 days.
How long they last depends on where you apply them, on your daily activities and on how hydrated your skin is.
The ink fades gradually as your skin renews itself naturally.
Here is an estimate of how long they hold, area by area:
🦵 Leg: day 1 to 5 (very dark colour), then day 6 to 12 (colour fading).
🦶 Foot: day 1 to 8 (very dark colour), then day 9 to 14 (colour fading).

Temporary surf tattoo: how to test the design before committing for life?
Choosing a permanent surf tattoo is a commitment. This pack of 4 designs lets you wear the motif on your skin for 10 to 14 days, live with it in the sun and sea, and then decide with full confidence. No needle, no pain, visible result from the moment you apply it.
The 5 x 5 cm format works on the ankle, wrist, forearm or shoulder. You can test multiple placements with the 4 designs in the pack before making your final choice.
How long does a temporary surf tattoo last?
Duration depends on your skin and habits. On normal skin without repeated friction, the tattoo stays sharp for 10 to 14 days. The beach, sea and sport won't speed up fading as long as you avoid rubbing the area with a towel.
To extend wear, avoid oily products on the tattoo area and pat dry rather than rubbing after each swim or shower.
Pack of 4 designs: what is the advantage over a single temporary tattoo?
With 4 designs in the pack, you can alternate placements, share a design with someone, or test multiple motifs before choosing one to get tattooed permanently. The value is better than a single temporary tattoo, and you keep flexibility over the final result.

Frequently asked questions about temporary surf tattoos
Does the temporary surf tattoo hold up in the sea and sun?
Yes. The tattoo holds in seawater and under the sun. Avoid rubbing the area with sand or a towel. Apply sunscreen around the tattoo, not directly on top, to preserve adhesion. Prolonged water exposure may cause slight fading at the edges, but the design stays visible throughout.
How do you apply a temporary surf tattoo correctly?
Cut out the design close to the edge. Place it printed-side down on clean, dry skin. Press a damp cloth on the back for 30 seconds with firm, even pressure. Peel the paper away gently. Let it dry for 2 to 3 minutes without touching. Your tattoo is on and ready to show.
Is the ink in the temporary tattoo safe for skin?
The ink used in this pack is dermatologically tested and free from para-phenylenediamine (PPD), the substance responsible for allergic reactions linked to so-called "black henna" temporary tattoos. If you have very sensitive skin, do a small patch test before full application.
Can you remove the temporary surf tattoo before it fades naturally?
Yes. To remove it early, apply oil (sweet almond or olive) to the design, leave it for 1 to 2 minutes, then rub gently with a cotton pad. The tattoo comes off cleanly without leaving a mark or irritating the skin.
Is the pack of 4 surf designs suitable for all skin types?
The pack suits most skin types. On very oily or very dry skin, wear time may vary. For sensitive skin, a patch test on a small area is recommended before full application. The product is not suitable for skin with open wounds or active eczema.
What is the size of the designs in the surf tattoo pack?
Each design in the pack measures 5 x 5 cm. This size is ideal for the inner wrist, ankle, inner arm or shoulder. For a larger effect, you can position two designs side by side depending on the composition you choose.
