Dotwork Sun Tattoo
Dotwork Sun Tattoo
What if you could test-drive your dotwork sun tattoo for 10 to 14 days on your actual skin before committing to a needle forever?
No needle. No pain. No commitment. While permanent tattoos cost 60-200€ and demand weeks of healing, our dotwork sun goes on in 5 minutes, holds 10 to 14 days, and fades without a trace. The price of a try, not a regret.

What's in the kit?
Every InkToday tattoo ships in its protective sleeve, with an application guide to help you put it on.
How do I apply my tattoo?
Our tattoos are painless and very easy to apply yourself – it only takes a few simple steps.
Follow the application guide supplied with your tattoo, or watch our video tutorial here.
Once applied, the ink reacts with the proteins and the keratin in your skin, and darkens within 24 to 36 hours.
Your tattoo then stays visible for 10 to 14 days depending on where you apply it on your body, before fading away naturally.
Colour and appearance
Unlike most temporary tattoos, INKTODAY ink bonds to the surface of your skin instead of simply sitting on top of it.
Once applied, the ink reacts with the proteins and the keratin in your skin, and darkens within 24 to 36 hours.
The final result looks like a real tattoo, in a deep blue-black colour.
How long does the tattoo last?
INKTODAY tattoos are designed to fade within 10 to 14 days.
How long they last depends on where you apply them, on your daily activities and on how hydrated your skin is.
The ink fades gradually as your skin renews itself naturally.
Here is an estimate of how long they hold, area by area:
🦵 Leg: day 1 to 5 (very dark colour), then day 6 to 12 (colour fading).
🦶 Foot: day 1 to 8 (very dark colour), then day 9 to 14 (colour fading).
🦵 Knee: day 1 to 6 (very dark colour), then day 7 to 12 (colour fading).
💪 Forearm: day 1 to 6 (very dark colour), then day 7 to 12 (colour fading).
💪 Shoulder: day 1 to 7 (very dark colour), then day 8 to 14 (colour fading).
💪 Upper arm: day 1 to 7 (very dark colour), then day 8 to 14 (colour fading).
✋ Hand: day 1 to 4 (very dark colour), then day 5 to 8 (colour fading).

InkToday ink: how we designed it
We developed our InkToday formula drawing on the natural, ancestral practices of tribes who used plant sap to mark their skin.
Our unique formula lets our INKTODAY tattoos last longer while giving a deeper, blacker colour.
Water-resistant and incredibly realistic, our tattoos offer an authentic, long-lasting experience.

Temporary dotwork sun tattoo: test the stippled look without a needle
The dotwork sun is one of the most requested tattoo designs precisely because it is so hard to pull off. Each hand-placed dot creates a unique texture and luminous finish that solid lines or tribal styles simply cannot replicate. But before lying down under the needle for such a detailed motif, many people want to see how it actually looks on their skin, on their arm, in their everyday life.
That is exactly what the InkToday temporary dotwork sun tattoo is for. Same visual finish, same size (4.4 x 4.3 cm), applied on your arm in 5 minutes. It holds 10 to 14 days, survives showers and swimming, and fades cleanly. You see the dotwork sun on you when you wake up, at work, at a party, at the beach. You know whether it is truly where you want it, and whether this motif is right for you.
When to wear a temporary dotwork sun?
The question is not "does it look real?" but "do I want this forever?". The temporary dotwork sun tattoo fits very specific moments:
- Before a permanent tattoo: test the size, exact placement and dotwork finish on your real skin before your appointment
- Festival or summer event: a seasonal sun that travels with you without the healing restrictions (no sun avoidance, no SPF obligation)
- Bachelorette party: matching sun tattoos for the whole group, no pain, no commitment
- Holiday or travel: the dotwork sun goes with you for 10 to 14 days, waterproof, zero maintenance
- Creative gift: an original alternative to jewellery for a lasting aesthetic experience
What is the price of a temporary dotwork sun tattoo? Permanent dotwork tattoos start at 60€ for a small studio design and can easily reach 150-200€ depending on the artist. The InkToday temporary dotwork sun starts at 13€. That is the price of a test, not a lifelong commitment.
Competitors like Inkster or tatouage-éphémère.com offer temporary suns between 3.90€ and 9.90€, but their hold does not exceed 2 to 6 days. The InkToday sun holds 10 to 14 days thanks to a formula that penetrates the first skin layer for a far more natural and lasting result.
