What's in the kit?
Every InkToday tattoo ships in its protective sleeve, with an application guide to help you put it on.
How do I apply my tattoo?
Our tattoos are painless and very easy to apply yourself – it only takes a few simple steps.
Follow the application guide supplied with your tattoo, or watch our video tutorial here.
Once applied, the ink reacts with the proteins and the keratin in your skin, and darkens within 24 to 36 hours.
Your tattoo then stays visible for 10 to 14 days depending on where you apply it on your body, before fading away naturally.
Colour and appearance
Unlike most temporary tattoos, INKTODAY ink bonds to the surface of your skin instead of simply sitting on top of it.
Once applied, the ink reacts with the proteins and the keratin in your skin, and darkens within 24 to 36 hours.
The final result looks like a real tattoo, in a deep blue-black colour.
How long does the tattoo last?
INKTODAY tattoos are designed to fade within 10 to 14 days.
How long they last depends on where you apply them, on your daily activities and on how hydrated your skin is.
The ink fades gradually as your skin renews itself naturally.
Here is an estimate of how long they hold, area by area:
🦵 Leg: day 1 to 5 (very dark colour), then day 6 to 12 (colour fading).

Temporary revolver tattoo: test the western look before committing
The revolver tattoo is one of the most symbolically loaded motifs in tattoo culture. It evokes strength, rebellion, individualism and a deliberate nod to western or vintage aesthetics. But getting a permanent tattoo is a lifelong decision. The temporary revolver tattoo exists precisely for this: wear the design for 10 to 14 days, test the placement, see how it fits your style before booking a studio appointment.
What does a revolver tattoo mean?
The revolver is far more than a weapon in tattoo iconography. On the forearm or hand, it projects a bold statement. Historically linked to cowboys and outlaw figures, it has been reclaimed as a symbol of self-protection, resilience and independence. In classic black-and-white old school style, it references American traditional tattooing. With floral details, it creates a visual tension between toughness and delicacy.
Where to place a temporary revolver tattoo?
The 5x5 cm format works across several body placements. The forearm is the most popular location for this type of design: maximum visibility and an authentic feel. The wrist works for a more understated version. The ankle or calf allows easy concealment depending on the occasion. Some choose the thigh or ribs for a more private placement, revealed only in summer outfits or at festivals.
When to wear a temporary revolver tattoo?
Music festivals and events are the most common occasions: the motif reinforces a streetwear or rock look with zero commitment. Bachelor and bachelorette parties, costume nights, photo shoots and video productions are equally popular. Many also use it as a concrete test before booking their permanent tattoo session.
What does a temporary revolver tattoo cost?Prices for temporary revolver tattoos on the French market range from 2.49€ to 12.90€ depending on size and brand. InkToday offers its premium temporary revolver tattoo from 10€, with EU-certified vegan ink, no black henna, and a clean 5x5 cm format. A permanent revolver tattoo at a studio costs between 60 and 200€. The temporary version lets you test the design, placement and visual impact for a fraction of the price, with zero risk.
Vegan ink and safety: what you need to know
Temporary tattoos made with vegan ink and compliant with EU cosmetic standards are safe for skin use. Black henna, however, contains PPD, a documented allergen that can cause eczema and allergic reactions. InkToday's formulas are PPD-free, dermatologically tested and suitable for sensitive skin. Waterproof once dry, the tattoo holds through showers and sweat without peeling.
How to apply a temporary revolver tattoo?
Application takes about 5 minutes. Clean and dry the skin area. Press the tattoo printed-side down against the skin. Wet the backing paper thoroughly with a damp sponge. Hold firm pressure for 30 seconds. Peel off the paper gently. The motif appears sharp and detailed. To extend wear, avoid rubbing the area and keep oils away from it.
