How do I apply my tattoo?
Our tattoos are painless and very easy to apply yourself – it only takes a few simple steps.

Once applied, the ink reacts with the proteins and the keratin in your skin, and darkens within 24 to 36 hours.
Your tattoo then stays visible for 10 to 14 days depending on where you apply it on your body, before fading away naturally.
Colour and appearance
Unlike most temporary tattoos, INKTODAY ink bonds to the surface of your skin instead of simply sitting on top of it.
Once applied, the ink reacts with the proteins and the keratin in your skin, and darkens within 24 to 36 hours.
The final result looks like a real tattoo, in a deep blue-black colour.
How long does the tattoo last?
INKTODAY tattoos are designed to fade within 10 to 14 days.
How long they last depends on where you apply them, on your daily activities and on how hydrated your skin is.
The ink fades gradually as your skin renews itself naturally.
Here is an estimate of how long they hold, area by area:

A temporary lightning tattoo is a vegan ink transfer applied to the skin without a needle. It replicates the look of a real lightning bolt tattoo for 10 to 14 days, then fades naturally. It's the perfect way to try a design before committing, or simply enjoy a bold look for an event or a season.
InkToday's ink meets EU regulations in force. It's formulated without PPD or black henna, two substances known to cause skin reactions. Application takes 5 minutes and requires no special tools: a little water and light pressure are all you need.
The tattoo withstands everyday water, light perspiration and normal friction. To extend its life, avoid scrubbing the area and prolonged soaking in water.

How do you apply and remove an InkToday temporary lightning tattoo?
Application is quick and requires no skill. Clean and dry the chosen area, remove the protective film, press the printed side against your skin, hold a damp cloth over it for 30 seconds, then gently peel away the paper. The tattoo appears instantly, sharp and precise.
For removal, you don't need to wait for it to fade on its own. Apply coconut oil or olive oil to the area, leave it for a few minutes, then wipe clean gently without rubbing aggressively.

Is the temporary lightning tattoo safe for skin?
Yes, provided the ink complies with EU standards, as InkToday's does. Formulations without PPD and black henna avoid the main risks of irritation or allergic reaction. If you have very sensitive skin, test on a small area for 24 hours before covering a larger surface.
How long does the InkToday lightning tattoo last exactly?
The tattoo lasts between 10 and 14 days depending on your skin type and habits. Oilier skin or areas subject to more friction (wrist, ankle) generally see the design fade a little faster. Avoid exfoliating and prolonged soaking to maximise how long it lasts.
Can the temporary lightning tattoo be placed anywhere on the body?
The tattoo can be applied to almost any part of the body: arm, shoulder, ankle, neck, back, wrist. Areas with heavy perspiration or very thin skin (palm, sole of the foot, face) are not recommended as adhesion will be weaker and the design will not last as long.
Does the lightning tattoo hold up to water and exercise?
It holds up to everyday water: showering, rain and light perspiration won't affect it. However, prolonged immersion in water (pool, sea, bath) or repeated intense sweating will speed up fading. For sport, a light cover over the tattooed area helps the design last longer.
