What's in the kit?
Every InkToday tattoo ships in its protective sleeve, with an application guide to help you put it on.
How do I apply my tattoo?
Our tattoos are painless and very easy to apply yourself – it only takes a few simple steps.
Follow the application guide supplied with your tattoo, or watch our video tutorial here.
Once applied, the ink reacts with the proteins and the keratin in your skin, and darkens within 24 to 36 hours.
Your tattoo then stays visible for 10 to 14 days depending on where you apply it on your body, before fading away naturally.
Colour and appearance
Unlike most temporary tattoos, INKTODAY ink bonds to the surface of your skin instead of simply sitting on top of it.
Once applied, the ink reacts with the proteins and the keratin in your skin, and darkens within 24 to 36 hours.
The final result looks like a real tattoo, in a deep blue-black colour.
How long does the tattoo last?
INKTODAY tattoos are designed to fade within 10 to 14 days.
How long they last depends on where you apply them, on your daily activities and on how hydrated your skin is.
The ink fades gradually as your skin renews itself naturally.
Here is an estimate of how long they hold, area by area:
🦵 Leg: day 1 to 5 (very dark colour), then day 6 to 12 (colour fading).
🦶 Foot: day 1 to 8 (very dark colour), then day 9 to 14 (colour fading).
🦵 Knee: day 1 to 6 (very dark colour), then day 7 to 12 (colour fading).
💪 Forearm: day 1 to 6 (very dark colour), then day 7 to 12 (colour fading).
💪 Shoulder: day 1 to 7 (very dark colour), then day 8 to 14 (colour fading).
💪 Upper arm: day 1 to 7 (very dark colour), then day 8 to 14 (colour fading).
✋ Hand: day 1 to 4 (very dark colour), then day 5 to 8 (colour fading).

Temporary writing tattoo: how long does it really last?
A quality temporary writing tattoo lasts between 10 and 14 days depending on the placement area and your skin type. Low-friction zones such as the wrist, collarbone or ankle offer the best longevity. To extend wear, avoid repeated rubbing and oily products on the area.
The InkToday "why not" tattoo uses a vegan-based ink that adheres to the surface of the skin without needles. Application takes 5 minutes with a damp cloth, and the result is waterproof once dry.
Why choose an ephemeral writing tattoo over a permanent one?
A temporary tattoo is the ideal solution to test a message or a font before committing permanently. You wear your "why not" tattoo for 10 to 14 days, observe how it looks in your daily life, and calmly decide whether you want to go permanent.
Another advantage: the price. A permanent wrist tattoo costs at least several dozen euros at a studio. With InkToday, you test for 13.00 € with no appointment and no pain.
Where to place the "why not" writing tattoo?
The 0.6 x 4 cm format is designed for slim, discreet areas. The inner wrist remains the classic placement for a writing tattoo: visible when you show it, hidden when you cover it. The collarbone, ankle or nape of the neck are excellent alternatives.
Avoid high-sweat or high-friction areas such as palms or elbow folds, which will reduce how long the tattoo lasts.
Frequently asked questions about the temporary writing tattoo
Does a temporary writing tattoo hurt?
No, the temporary tattoo does not hurt. It is applied like a sticker on the surface of the skin using a damp cloth. No needles are used, unlike permanent tattoos. The application takes around 5 minutes and causes no pain whatsoever.
What are the risks of a temporary tattoo?
Quality temporary tattoos are safe as long as they use certified ink free of paraphenylenediamine (PPD), the allergenic compound found in black henna. InkToday tattoos use dermatologically tested vegan ink, free of black henna.
How do you remove a temporary writing tattoo?
To remove your tattoo before it naturally fades, rub the area with a vegetable oil (olive oil, coconut oil) for a few seconds, then wipe with a cotton pad. The ink dissolves without damaging the skin. Acetone-free nail polish remover also works; rinse thoroughly afterwards.
Is the "why not" tattoo available in other colours?
The "why not" design is available in black, the most readable colour and the closest to a real writing tattoo. InkToday offers other writing tattoo designs in various fonts and colours in the dedicated text and inscription collection.
Can you swim with an InkToday temporary tattoo?
Yes, InkToday tattoos are waterproof once dry. You can shower, swim in a pool and go to the sea with your "why not" writing tattoo. Optimal wear lasts 10 to 14 days. Avoid prolonged repeated immersion, which gradually accelerates peeling.
What font is used for the "why not" design?
The "why not" tattoo uses a thin minimalist font, close to handwritten lettering, for a natural and authentic look. This style is similar to the fineline writing tattoos very popular in studios, with delicate lines that blend discreetly into the skin.
