What's in the kit?
Every InkToday tattoo ships in its protective sleeve, with an application guide to help you put it on.
How do I apply my tattoo?
Our tattoos are painless and very easy to apply yourself – it only takes a few simple steps.
Follow the application guide supplied with your tattoo, or watch our video tutorial here.
Once applied, the ink reacts with the proteins and the keratin in your skin, and darkens within 24 to 36 hours.
Your tattoo then stays visible for 10 to 14 days depending on where you apply it on your body, before fading away naturally.
Colour and appearance
Unlike most temporary tattoos, INKTODAY ink bonds to the surface of your skin instead of simply sitting on top of it.
Once applied, the ink reacts with the proteins and the keratin in your skin, and darkens within 24 to 36 hours.
The final result looks like a real tattoo, in a deep blue-black colour.
How long does the tattoo last?
INKTODAY tattoos are designed to fade within 10 to 14 days.
How long they last depends on where you apply them, on your daily activities and on how hydrated your skin is.
The ink fades gradually as your skin renews itself naturally.
Here is an estimate of how long they hold, area by area:
🦵 Leg: day 1 to 5 (very dark colour), then day 6 to 12 (colour fading).
🦶 Foot: day 1 to 8 (very dark colour), then day 9 to 14 (colour fading).
🦵 Knee: day 1 to 6 (very dark colour), then day 7 to 12 (colour fading).
💪 Forearm: day 1 to 6 (very dark colour), then day 7 to 12 (colour fading).
💪 Shoulder: day 1 to 7 (very dark colour), then day 8 to 14 (colour fading).

What is the meaning of a stylized cross tattoo?
A stylized cross tattoo goes beyond a simple religious symbol. It brings together complementary opposites: the four cardinal points, the vertical axis of spirituality and the horizontal axis of the earthly world. Worn as a graphic jewel on the skin, it expresses faith, memory or personal meaning, depending on who chooses it.
The stylized version adds a modern aesthetic dimension: clean lines, deliberate geometry, fine detail. It works equally well with minimalist styles and bolder looks, making it a timeless motif as popular in 2026 as it was a decade ago.
Want to try it without commitment? A temporary tattoo lets you test the design, placement and visual impact before making a permanent decision, or simply refresh it whenever you like.
Where to place a stylized cross tattoo for the best result?
Placement determines how readable and harmonious the design looks. For a stylized cross measuring 10.5 x 5.2 cm, the most suitable spots are the forearm, wrist, nape of the neck, collarbone and shoulder. The rule is simple: choose a flat surface that keeps the cross straight and balanced.
A small design gains discretion on the wrist or behind the ear. An intermediate size like this one looks best on the upper arm or collarbone, where the skin is flat enough to reveal every detail. On the back or thigh, it can also serve as an anchor point for a larger composition.
With a temporary tattoo, you can test several placements before committing, with no risk and no regrets.
How to apply and remove an InkToday temporary cross tattoo?
Application takes about 2 minutes. Clean and dry the chosen area, place the tattoo face down against the skin, press a damp cloth on top for 30 seconds, then gently peel away the paper backing. The design stays in place, clean and precise.
To extend wear up to 14 days, avoid scrubbing the area when washing and limit repeated friction. For early removal, a few seconds with vegetable oil or pure alcohol dissolves the ink cleanly, leaving no trace.
The ink is plant-based and formulated to respect sensitive skin. If you have a known skin sensitivity, a small patch test before full application is always a good idea.
Frequently asked questions about the stylized cross tattoo
How long does an InkToday temporary cross tattoo last?
The tattoo lasts between 10 and 14 days under normal conditions. Duration varies by placement area, skin type and daily habits. Low-friction areas like the nape or shoulder tend to hold the design longer than the wrist or hand.
Is the stylized cross tattoo suitable for sensitive skin?
The ink used is plant-based and free of aggressive components, designed to be gentle on skin. If you have reactive skin, do a 24-hour patch test on a small area before applying the full design. If persistent redness occurs, remove it with oil and consult a healthcare professional.
What tattoo goes well with a stylized cross?
A cross pairs easily with geometric, floral or typographic designs. A rose, a dove or a short inscription alongside the cross creates a cohesive composition. You can explore these combinations with different InkToday temporary tattoos before committing to a permanent version.
Can you get a cross tattoo without being religious?
Absolutely. The cross motif goes far beyond its religious use and is today worn as a graphic, cultural or personal symbol. Each person gives it the meaning that resonates with them, whether spiritual, aesthetic or memorial. The temporary tattoo lets you explore this design with no commitment and no statement of belief.
What cross tattoo styles are trending in 2026?
In 2026, mixed styles dominate: geometric cross combined with dotwork, minimalist cross paired with floral elements, or graphic blackwork cross. The InkToday stylized cross fits this clean, versatile trend, adaptable to many visual universes without going overboard.
What is the difference between a temporary tattoo and an ephemeral tattoo?
Both terms describe the same category: designs applied to the skin without needles that naturally disappear over time. InkToday temporary tattoos use plant-based ink transferred by wet pressure, with no connection to permanent tattoo ink. The ink does not penetrate the dermis and fades as skin cells naturally renew.
