What's in the kit?
Every InkToday tattoo ships in its protective sleeve, with an application guide to help you put it on.
How do I apply my tattoo?
Our tattoos are painless and very easy to apply yourself – it only takes a few simple steps.
Follow the application guide supplied with your tattoo, or watch our video tutorial here.
Once applied, the ink reacts with the proteins and the keratin in your skin, and darkens within 24 to 36 hours.
Your tattoo then stays visible for 10 to 14 days depending on where you apply it on your body, before fading away naturally.
Colour and appearance
Unlike most temporary tattoos, INKTODAY ink bonds to the surface of your skin instead of simply sitting on top of it.
Once applied, the ink reacts with the proteins and the keratin in your skin, and darkens within 24 to 36 hours.
The final result looks like a real tattoo, in a deep blue-black colour.
How long does the tattoo last?
INKTODAY tattoos are designed to fade within 10 to 14 days.
How long they last depends on where you apply them, on your daily activities and on how hydrated your skin is.
The ink fades gradually as your skin renews itself naturally.
Here is an estimate of how long they hold, area by area:
🦵 Leg: day 1 to 5 (very dark colour), then day 6 to 12 (colour fading).
🦶 Foot: day 1 to 8 (very dark colour), then day 9 to 14 (colour fading).
🦵 Knee: day 1 to 6 (very dark colour), then day 7 to 12 (colour fading).

Temporary cross tattoo: test your placement before committing
A permanent cross tattoo costs between €60 and €200 and stays for life. Before making that decision, thousands of people choose to test the design on their skin with a temporary cross tattoo. The concept: apply, wear for 10 to 14 days, observe. If the placement doesn't feel right, no laser removal is needed.
This solid cross temporary tattoo measures 3.9 x 2 cm. The size works perfectly for the most requested short placements: wrist, nape, collarbone, ankle, behind the ear. The solid cross (thick lines, full black fill) stands apart from minimalist thin crosses through its direct visual impact. It carries strong symbolism: Christian faith, divine protection, family tribute, memorial.
Which placements to test with a temporary cross?
The most popular spots for a cross are the inner wrist, nape, collarbone and forearm. The 3.9 x 2 cm format lets you test each zone with no resizing needed. Wearing the tattoo for a full week, including showers and normal activities, gives a realistic preview of the permanent result. The vegan ink is waterproof and leaves no residue on removal.
Perfect occasions for a temporary cross tattoo
A temporary cross tattoo fits several specific moments: pilgrimage or religious trip, Christian wedding (bride or groom wants a symbol for the weekend), summer festival, themed bachelorette party, Easter or Christmas gift, or simply to confirm placement before the tattoo appointment. From €13, the test is accessible without any budget trade-off.
FAQ: temporary cross tattoo
What does a cross tattoo mean?
The cross often expresses personal faith, spiritual grounding or a tribute passed down through generations. It also symbolises divine protection and hope in difficult times. Each wearer brings their own meaning to it.
How long does a temporary tattoo last?
A temporary tattoo typically lasts 10 to 14 days depending on body placement and skin type. Low-friction areas (collarbone, nape) hold longer than high-movement zones (fingers, palm).
Is it a sin to get a cross tattoo?
The question is debated across Christian traditions. A temporary tattoo lets you wear the symbol for a specific occasion (wedding, pilgrimage, celebration) without facing the permanence question.
Does a temporary tattoo hurt?
No. Unlike permanent tattoos, no needles are involved. Application takes 5 minutes, like a sticker, with zero pain.
What are the risks of a temporary tattoo?
Risks are minimal if the formula contains no black henna (PPD). This cross tattoo uses vegan ink compliant with EU regulations, free from black henna and dermatologically tested.
How much does a temporary cross tattoo cost?
From €13 for this solid cross tattoo, versus €60 to €200 for a permanent tattoo of the same size. The price of a try, not a regret.
Is it disrespectful to wear a cross without being Christian?
That's a personal question. Many people wear the cross for its aesthetic or universal symbolic value. A temporary tattoo lets you do so for a specific occasion without lasting commitment.
