What's in the kit?
Every InkToday tattoo ships in its protective sleeve, with an application guide to help you put it on.
How do I apply my tattoo?
Our tattoos are painless and very easy to apply yourself – it only takes a few simple steps.
Follow the application guide supplied with your tattoo, or watch our video tutorial here.
Once applied, the ink reacts with the proteins and the keratin in your skin, and darkens within 24 to 36 hours.
Your tattoo then stays visible for 10 to 14 days depending on where you apply it on your body, before fading away naturally.
Colour and appearance
Unlike most temporary tattoos, INKTODAY ink bonds to the surface of your skin instead of simply sitting on top of it.
Once applied, the ink reacts with the proteins and the keratin in your skin, and darkens within 24 to 36 hours.
The final result looks like a real tattoo, in a deep blue-black colour.
How long does the tattoo last?
INKTODAY tattoos are designed to fade within 10 to 14 days.
How long they last depends on where you apply them, on your daily activities and on how hydrated your skin is.
The ink fades gradually as your skin renews itself naturally.
Here is an estimate of how long they hold, area by area:
🦵 Leg: day 1 to 5 (very dark colour), then day 6 to 12 (colour fading).
🦶 Foot: day 1 to 8 (very dark colour), then day 9 to 14 (colour fading).
🦵 Knee: day 1 to 6 (very dark colour), then day 7 to 12 (colour fading).
💪 Forearm: day 1 to 6 (very dark colour), then day 7 to 12 (colour fading).

Temporary butterfly tattoo: test the most popular motif before committing for life
The butterfly is the most requested tattoo motif in France and across Europe. It carries universal meaning: freedom, transformation, personal rebirth. Whether you're drawn to it for its symbolism or simply its elegance, a temporary butterfly tattoo lets you wear it for 10 to 14 days, test every placement, and decide with full confidence before a needle ever touches your skin.
Where to place a temporary butterfly tattoo?
The butterfly works on almost any placement, which is exactly why going temporary first makes sense. The most popular spots are the wrist (subtle and versatile), shoulder (great surface for detail), ankle (minimalist and feminine), nape of the neck (understated wow factor), and upper back. At 3 x 3.2 cm, InkToday's butterfly fits all these placements without looking crowded.
What occasions call for a temporary butterfly tattoo?
Hen parties, summer festivals, beach holidays, Valentine's Day, a last-minute gift for a friend who loves body art: the butterfly tattoo checks every box. It's wearable, giftable, and gone when you want it gone. No appointment, no commitment, no scar.
How long does a temporary butterfly tattoo last?
InkToday's butterfly tattoo lasts 10 to 14 days depending on placement and care. Less-friction areas (shoulder, back, neck) last longer than high-movement zones (wrist, ankle). To maximise wear: pat dry rather than rubbing, avoid applying lotion directly over the tattoo, and keep bath time short.
What is the price of a temporary butterfly tattoo?
InkToday's temporary butterfly tattoo starts from 10€. For comparison, a permanent butterfly tattoo at a professional studio starts at 30-60€ for a small motif, and that's forever. The price difference is clear: a few euros to test the exact motif and placement before committing for life.
Vegan ink, zero black henna: what to check before buying
Black henna temporary tattoos, common at markets and beach resorts, contain paraphenylenediamine (PPD), a strong allergen that can cause severe chemical burns. InkToday contains none. Vegan formula, full compliance with EU cosmetic standards, dermatologically tested. Safe to apply anywhere on the body.
How to apply and remove a temporary butterfly tattoo
Application takes 5 minutes: cut out the motif, remove the protective film, press the printed side against damp skin for 30 seconds, peel away gently. To remove: baby oil or 70° rubbing alcohol on a cotton pad dissolves the tattoo cleanly with no residue and no irritation.
