What's in the kit?
Every InkToday tattoo ships in its protective sleeve, with an application guide to help you put it on.
How do I apply my tattoo?
Our tattoos are painless and very easy to apply yourself – it only takes a few simple steps.
Follow the application guide supplied with your tattoo, or watch our video tutorial here.
Once applied, the ink reacts with the proteins and the keratin in your skin, and darkens within 24 to 36 hours.
Your tattoo then stays visible for 10 to 14 days depending on where you apply it on your body, before fading away naturally.
Colour and appearance
Unlike most temporary tattoos, INKTODAY ink bonds to the surface of your skin instead of simply sitting on top of it.
Once applied, the ink reacts with the proteins and the keratin in your skin, and darkens within 24 to 36 hours.
The final result looks like a real tattoo, in a deep blue-black colour.
How long does the tattoo last?
INKTODAY tattoos are designed to fade within 10 to 14 days.
How long they last depends on where you apply them, on your daily activities and on how hydrated your skin is.
The ink fades gradually as your skin renews itself naturally.
Here is an estimate of how long they hold, area by area:

Temporary koi sleeve tattoo: test the design before committing for life
A koi sleeve is one of the most sought-after Japanese tattoo designs. The koi fish swimming upstream symbolizes perseverance and personal transformation. Paired with the Ryū dragon, it builds a narrative composition: ascension, self-transcendence, quiet strength. This is not a casual motif, which is exactly why wearing it for 10 to 14 days before committing to ink makes complete sense.
The "Ryū & Koi: Ascension" design covers the forearm across 17 x 49 cm, from wrist to elbow, in the Japanese irezumi tradition. Full sleeve format, ultra-realistic finish, vegan inks compliant with EU cosmetic standards, zero black henna.
Who wears this design and for which occasions?
Festival season, a Japan trip, a bachelorette party with a Japanese theme, a photo shoot, or simply testing what a full sleeve looks like on your arm before booking a tattoo session. The koi also resonates with anyone going through a period of change, a career shift, or a personal challenge who wants to carry that symbolism through a specific chapter of their life.
How do you apply a temporary koi sleeve?
Application takes 5 minutes. Press the printed side against skin, wet with a damp sponge, hold for 30 seconds, peel away the paper. The result lasts 10 to 14 days depending on skin type and activity level. The surface is waterproof: sport, swimming, shower, no problem. To remove, use vegetable oil or a gentle remover, zero residue.
What is the price of a temporary koi sleeve?
A permanent Japanese half-sleeve costs far more (10-12 hours in the chair). The price of this temporary version is the price of a test, not a commitment. Seeing the real result on your skin, in your daily life, before investing four figures is the smartest move you can make.
