Turn a Photo Into a Temporary Tattoo

In short: yes, a photo can become a temporary tattoo. InkToday prints it as a transfer from your file, from a single piece, and it lasts 10 to 14 days. A face is sharp at 10x10 cm and blurrier at 3x3; a clean outline works better than a low-contrast photo.

Which photos make a good tattoo?

A transfer copies your file faithfully: it does not fix blur or missing contrast. Here is what each type of photo gives.

What a photo cannot do

The ink is blue-black, so a colour photo prints in a single dark tone. Very fine shades of grey fade, especially at small sizes. A compressed photo, or one taken in low light, makes a pale tattoo. If your image is blurry, the tattoo will be blurry: that is the one limit we cannot fix.

Frequently asked questions

How can I turn a picture into a temporary tattoo?

Upload the picture on our custom tattoo page, pick the size (3x3, 5x5 or 10x10 cm) and the quantity, from 1 piece. We print it as a water-slide transfer you apply in about 5 minutes.

Can I get custom temporary tattoos made?

Yes. InkToday prints any photo, drawing, logo or text you send, from a single piece. The unit price falls as the quantity rises and shows in your currency on the product page.

How long do temporary tattoos last on the face?

We state 10 to 14 days on areas that rub little, like the forearm or shoulder, and 7 to 10 days on fingers and hands. The face is oily and touched often, so expect less than on the arm.

Is it safe to put temporary tattoos on your face?

Our ink is plant-based and vegan, with no PPD and no henna. Skin on the face is more sensitive, so apply a small test piece on a hidden area first.

Can I shower with temporary tattoos?

Yes. The transfer is made to stay on through daily showers for 10 to 14 days. Avoid scrubbing the area and putting oily products on it.

Is a temporary tattoo painful?

No. There is no needle: you apply it with a damp cloth in about 5 minutes, and it comes off on its own as your skin renews.
