Temporary Tattoos for Men

Temporary tattoos for men that look like real ink

InkToday temporary tattoos for men are water-applied transfers, not stickers. The ink darkens on your skin over 24 to 36 hours, then dries matte, so the result reads like a fresh tattoo. It lasts 10 to 14 days and fades gradually. Use it to try a sleeve before committing, or to wear a bold design for a weekend, a festival or a trip.

Which designs do guys pick most?

• Full arm sleeves: one transfer covers the arm. Wolf Oath, Māori Sentinel, Dragon & Koi, Polynesian Maelstrom, King of Time. See the full sleeve collection.
• Tribal and blackwork: Maori arm band, Polynesian and tribal symbols. Read our tribal tattoo guide.
• Animals: eagle, lion, tiger, leopard, phoenix and dragons. See the dragon collection.
• Crosses, angels and script: stylized cross, Black Angel, Lion and God, short words.
• Small one-line designs: compass, mountains, motorcycle, world map, for the wrist or the forearm.

Where should a man place a temporary tattoo?

The forearm, the upper arm, the shoulder and the calf hold a design the longest, because they rub less and get washed less. Hands and fingers fade sooner. For a sleeve, start from a clean, hair-trimmed arm: the transfer sits flatter and lasts longer.

How do you put it on?

1. Wash the area with soap and water, skip any lotion, and dry it well.
2. Cut out the design, remove the clear film and place the inked side on your skin.
3. Press a damp cloth over the whole paper for 20 to 30 seconds without moving it.
4. Peel the paper off from one corner, then let it dry for 10 to 15 minutes without rubbing.

On a hairy forearm, trim the area first. The design looks light at first and darkens over 24 to 36 hours. The full step-by-step guide with a video is on our how to apply page.

Temporary tattoos for men: FAQ

Do temporary tattoos for men look real?

InkToday designs do once they have developed. The ink darkens over 24 to 36 hours and dries matte, with no sticker shine. Up close the lines look like a fresh tattoo, and the design fades gradually instead of cracking.

How long does a men's temporary tattoo last?

Between 10 and 14 days on average. A forearm, an upper arm or a calf keeps it longer than hands or fingers, which rub and get washed often. Moisturize the skin each day and avoid scrubbing the area.

Do temporary tattoos work on a hairy arm?

Yes, but trim the hair first. The transfer needs to sit flat on the skin. Short or shaved hair gives a cleaner line and a longer wear time than a dense, long-haired forearm.

Can I try a full sleeve before getting it inked?

Yes. Our arm sleeves cover the arm in one transfer. Wearing one for 10 to 14 days lets you check the size, the placement and how you feel about it every day before you book a tattoo artist.

Are temporary tattoos waterproof?

Yes, once developed. The design holds up to showers, sweat, the gym and swimming. Pat it dry instead of rubbing it, and avoid long hot baths and scrubs, which make it fade faster.

How do I remove it early?

Rub the area gently with vegetable oil, coconut oil or an oil-based makeup remover, then wash with soap and water. Repeat if needed. Left alone, it fades by itself as your skin renews.
