Our finger temporary tattoos are tiny water-applied transfers in vegan ink that darkens over 24 to 36 hours and dries matte. They look like small fresh tattoos on the side or the top of the finger.
The honest part: fingers are the toughest spot for any tattoo, temporary or real. Washing, dishes and friction wear the design down, so a design on a finger fades much sooner than the 10 to 14 days you get on the arm. Real finger tattoos also fade and often need touch-ups, which is a good reason to test the look first.
Which finger tattoo should you pick?
Tiny symbols: little heart, smiley, infinity, anchor, yin and yang, Egyptian eye.
Numbers: angel numbers 111 to 999, or a set of digits to compose a date.
Writing: a Chinese character or a short word along the side of the finger.
Minimalist sets: 10 minimalist or 10 dotted hand tattoos to test several fingers at once.
Wash the area with soap and water, skip any lotion, and dry it well.
Cut out the design, remove the clear film and place the inked side on your skin.
Press a damp cloth over the whole paper for 20 to 30 seconds without moving it.
Peel the paper off from one corner, then let it dry for 10 to 15 minutes without rubbing.
Cut very close to the design and press with a fingertip-sized damp cloth. The design looks light at first and darkens over 24 to 36 hours. The full step-by-step guide with a video is on our how to apply page.
Finger temporary tattoos: FAQ
How long does a temporary tattoo last on a finger?
Less than anywhere else on the body. Fingers are washed and used all day, which wears any tattoo down. Wear gloves for dishes and cleaning, and avoid hand sanitizer on the design.
Which part of the finger holds best?
The top of the finger between the knuckles and the outer side hold best. The inner side and the fingertips rub constantly and fade first.
Do finger temporary tattoos look real?
Yes, once developed. The ink darkens over 24 to 36 hours and dries matte, so a tiny heart or number looks like a small fresh tattoo.
Why test a finger tattoo before getting it?
Real finger tattoos often blur or fade and need touch-ups, and they are always visible. A temporary one shows you the look and the spot without that commitment.
How do I remove it?
Rub it with a little vegetable oil or makeup remover, then wash your hands with soap.
